Where did the fog lights go?

Is this production model just a simple base version or is this all we are getting? The front end is begging for fog lights!

They're in the same place as the manual transmission.

The foglight design plans are currently residing in the same place as the plans for a manual transmission: a Toyota suit's wastebasket.

Who needs to see when you can barely go at all?;)
That front end is very bland. That is really too bad on Scions part. Hope an after market fog light option will come out as it could give back some aggression to the front end.

Maybe even just a different black abs plastic cover design would help.
Well, those are not that bad. Would prefer to see them recessed into the obvious hole for them.

A lot of that stuff looks aftermarket however, not factory.
I would personally just chose to add my own over the ones pictured above. We don't have much use for fog lights where I live besides for looks.
Probably just different trim levels. I wouldn't freak out just yet. It does look rather bland without them though.

Sad to see them go but like Nadeem said, lets wait and see
Aftermarket my friend, aftermarket
But then I have to do all the wiring and I won't have a nice clean stock looking fog light switch. Just include them please Scion, I would rather pay factory dealership pricing over after market installers.
I would like to see Scion bring them back in some form.
Fog lights you can put in after, a manual transmission, not so much :p

That is true, pretty much engine and transmission are strictly components that can't be modified on most cars. The CVT transmission should be ok, but manual would have been a terrific option.
Not sure why they would leave the spaces like that for fog lights if they are not planning on offering an upgrade or package for fog lights. Why not just take out the spots on the sides of the bumper like on the UK versions of the car instead?

AGREED!!!!! Thats why I still have hope they will come back.
If the fog lights don't come standard on the IQ or as an option, atleast the space is already there for you to do the aftermarket install. Think of cars that don't have fog lights, the dilemna is trying to figure out where and how to mount them.
True about the after market consideration but if you are taking that into a design factor why not spend the extra money and put in the fog lights :p

If they want to keep the price competitive, all the extras like fog lights will have to go. Fog lights are easy enough to be installed aftermarket, so why not give people the choice. I know there are people out there who will want a bare-bones basic car and have no need or desire for the fancy upgrades. Who knows, the fog lights may be offered as an option/upgrade... we will have to wait and see...
I would love to see lots of options on the iQ and an extremely base model offered that has next to nothing. From there the customer can add the parts he/she wants.

Yes, this would be ideal. Let me customize how I want the car please, don't add extra options that I don't want on my own car!
