So the car can fit 3 adults + 1 child (not exactly sure how that works) but do we know what kind of trunk space we can expect. If I buy this car I need room for groceries or other misc stuff I might pick up, will I have room?

There has to be a picture somewhere showing off the trunk space.

I think "trunk" is a bit of a stretch for this car. However, if you are willing to do some seat folding, there should be plenty of room. If you look on the Toyota sites from other countries where the iQ is already on sale (UK for example) you can get a better idea:
Toyota iQ Pictures | iQ Photo Gallery | Toyota UK

Here is one that shows the trunk, or lack there of in a formal sense:

And this one shows the space by folding the seats down:

Well I guess there is good and bad news in those pictures

It looks like each seat is independent fold down which means I could always leave one seat folded down and one up in case I have 2 passengers. This looks like it vastly expands the 'trunk space'. I may be able to make it work!

3 Adults?

Now is that with the front seats all the way back? I see the drawings but you better wait to crawl in one before you see exactly how much leg room in back. I am over six feet and would not drive with my knees bumping the steering wheel. Maybe it would be ok for someone driving who was about 5' 2" but I think with the front seat all the way back there won't be much rear leg room. Remember this car was first developed for the Japanese market and those folks aren't very tall.

Good point bionichicken

I hope they don't limit the amount you can slide the drivers seat into the rear passengers leg room. Worse come to worse I just have no one behind me, which will be the case 98% of the time.

The seats flipping down in the back are all I need for space.
I'm only 5' tall so a little car would be wonderful for driving around! There are lots of cars for tall people, but no affordable little cars. My husband and I have a Prius and a pick up truck (for trips to costco) which we use all the time. The truck is way to big for me to drive because the seat does not go up far enough for me to reach the pedals and on the Prius, I have to pull the seat all the way up too.
This looks like the perfect car for short people.

I came across this article...

2011 Scion iQ Auto and Racing News

...and it says that with the rear seats folded down, you can fit up to 2 golf bags. That said, I think it would be enough space for groceries and small packages, but I don't think anyone will be using their IQ to move furniture :p

As for the 3+1 seating, I keep reading that the seat behind the driver's seat would be good for a child - I don't think there would be much legroom in that seat at all... if I'm ever a passenger in anyone's IQ, I'm definitely calling SHOTGUN LOL :D

If you are 6 and a half foot tall I don't expect you will fit. A person who is 6 foot should be comfortable in the car I would think but thats just my guessing.
It seems to be fairly tall in the cabin area so I'm not sure height will be a big problem. The real question is how far back the seat will go and what kind of leg room will be there for the driver.

I think there will be enough legroom for the driver. The person sitting behind the driver is the one that you have to worry about :p They've said that the seat behind the driver in the IQ would be best for a small child, pets or packages... I don't see that seat being comfortable for an adult, unless the driver is super short...
