Maybe "old" news to some but some good eye candy anyway.

Great link, thanks G2244!! The tennis commercial for the iQ is a favorite!
Great link, I wish it was in English rather than Japanese.
From what I could figure out from the Ecology page the engine comes in two different versions1.33 L and 1.0 L.One may be diesel and the other gasoline.See copy from spec page below.
The lower line is what I believe to be the 1.33 L version, The two differnet mileage columns are MT and CVT respectively. The mileage figures of 21.2 and 20.8 km/L convert to 50.65 MPG for the Manual Transmission (MT) and the 49.6 MPG for the Automatic CVT.
The first listed engine 1.0 L gets 56 MPG with MT.

変速機 6MT CVT(自動無段変速機)
The following is the UK iQ site in English quite informative.
Note: When you look at the prices they include the UK Value Added Tax, and are inflated by 17% - 20% from actual.

Here is the Fuel Economy from this site.
Economy Emission Fuel economy (93/116/EEC) (Standard) EURO5 EURO 5
........................................................................1.0 L MT ........1.33 L MT
Fuel economy combined (l/100km / mpg) 4.4 / 64.2 ___ 4.9 / 57.65
CO2 mass emission (combined) (g/km) 99 113
wow im shocked. went to check the Scion iQ specifications on the UK website and look at this:

Acceleration (0 - 62mph) (secs) 14.7

iQ Accelerations is really slow, i didn't expect a race car, but wow is that ever slow.
That is on the 1.0 liter engine the 1.33 L engine is faster
___________________1.0L_________1.33L
Max speed (km/h / mph) 150 / 93.15 ........170 / 105.57
Acceleration (0 - 62mph) (secs) 14.7 ............. 11.8
It appears acceleration is a function of price, ie spend $24000 and the Golf TDI gives you 9 seconds 0 to 60, spend $105k and the Z06 Corevette gives you 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds, spend $237K and the Lamborghini Gallardo wiil go from 0 to 62 in 3.4 seconds.

I agree with u to sum extent. The 2011 GT-R costs $100k and does 0-60 in 3.1 seconds. Faster than a Gallardo and fast than a Z06, both costing more.

In the end performance in general factors into a higher price, since your paying for a fast and reliable car thats suppose to get those times, all the time. unlike sum tuner car that needs retuning or brakes down often from tuning it.
This car is not speed racer, its an econo box, for the different minded people.

It looks better and is different from a corolla or a yaris, and isnt a smart for 2. Its a good car for what it is.
