I find it interesting that the specs are similar to the iQ and kinda looks like it just a little bit. ;)

iQ descendant from an American company! I love it! (But will it sell)?

The iQ's design was way ahead of its time. The rest of the world is finally catching up.

Just buy the IQ from Toyota without the engine and put an electric motor in it....

It DOES look like an advanced or updated model IQ. Nice but I have no love for Musk or his Teslas....

If the industry ever happens, relatively affordable EV conversions (think along a Jiffy Lube scenario), I would think converting an IQ to electric would be more straight forward than for most cars. But it's gotta be in the 200-300 milage range at the very least before I would bother. Hydrogen would be better but I don't know if that's feasible and/ or cost prohibitive....

Teslas are straight garbage. Toyota is king.

Absolutely! I would love to upfit our 2012 iQ with a high torque electric motor when it becomes accessibly affordable. You can already buy DIY EV conversion kits for old VW beetles and such, so it is not that difficult to do DIY in an “old” vehicle with a little training and much homework.
While I am not interested in a full EV right now for a variety of reasons, especially not a Tesla, hybrids are great vehicles with a lot of utility. We had a Gen1 Prius for 10 years before the insurance finally totaled it due to a third Cat theft last year. That car was a milquetoast granny-mobile, but it was so efficient, reliable and quiet. Also, regenerative braking should be a mandatory feature on all EV’s—not sure why it isn’t…
When that kit becomes available and affordable I’ll be happy to buy it.
