scion iQ roof racks?

12002 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  scion_scion
will Scion be selling a roof rack for the iQ as part of there Scion iQ accessories?

I will be using the roof rack for my mountain bike.

I'm open to any suggestions for roof racks, even if it's a aftermarket roof rack.

im going to assume that thule or yakima will most likley make one, no doubt.
Thule is quick to jump on making roof rack systems, and I just looked it up.
Thule has 2 different Scion iQ roof racks, they are as follows:

- 480 Rapid Traverse Foot Pack
$464.97

- 480 Traverse Foot Pack
$364.97

There not cheap! But Thule is a trusted brand.
thule made one for the Toyota iQ. They uses the gutterless mounting kit. Guess it grabs onto the frame by the door opening. max load is 50kg.

On a side note, Toyota have a maximum of 0 (zero) kg load on the roof.

I don't think the 0 KG load will be anything of concern since the iQ roof rack grabs onto the frame. and the roof rack is obviously a few inches above the roof. Lets just hope no one puts one of those roof top carrier bags on the roof with a lot of weight and messed up the roof lol. I've seen it happen before on another car.

All because someone didn't strap down the bag properly
