Ok so been doing a little research and I want to upgrade to custom rims but I don't want to end up with a set of big heavy rims and tires that's going to negatively affect the performance of my IQ I've read a million different things online and they all say generally the same thing. Lighter is better less weight equals less effort to turn over so my two huge questions are....

1. How much do the basic rim tire hub cap cover weigh as a whole so I know I'm going lighter? And

2. Where can I buy good light weight rims and tires online?

I think someone weighed the stock steelies and they were right around 36 lbs w/o the hubcap. Should be able to do much better with something a bit lighter.

I like Tire Rack, too...they have great info. l also found some interesting choices at wheelstudio.com. Lots of Scion specialists don't list anything for the iQ yet.

True. Tire rack.com is the only site I have shopped for tires and they do show weight in tire details. Good luck in your search!

One tip that helped me was if iQ is not listed then select a 2006 xB which was the same 4x100 16" that we have. The newer xB is 5x114.

Try using smaller type. Most if not all of us can read it quite fine at the regular settings.
