I should also mention that there was no 'check engine' light on or anything that would signal a problem.
I had the weirdest thing happen to me today. I was sitting at a stoplight waiting for the light to change, and my iQ stalled. Just.... stall while idling. No notice, just off. I turned the key to start it and it was as though the battery had been disconnected. Absolutely nothing. At first I was a little panicked because the light was gonna change.
Then it dawned on me - a couple of minutes before, I had plugged in my iPad to charge - plugged it into the cigarette lighter power adapter. I had two other things already plugged into this 3-outlet adapter (GPS, Sirius radio), and there's also an amp powered to the stock battery as well.
My question is...... did the car really just stall because of THAT?!?! As soon as I unplugged the iPad charger, I could start the car again and off I went. It never happened again in the next hour I drove.
Has this ever happened to anyone else before? I figured if it was overloaded, it woulda blown a fuse rather than stalling the car??
This happened to me yesterday i stalled out but I also noticed i was charging my portable battery jumper through my cigarrette lighter outlet. I Went to test the battery and alternator at oreilys and they said it was fine and that it was probably WHAT I was charging through my cigarrette lighter outlet.I had the weirdest thing happen to me today.
