Hub caps on the base model?

Is it safe to thing the base model (and sounds like only model) will feature hub caps only? Seems to be quite a few variables of Scion pictures out there.

From the photos I've seen, the IQ appears to have rims, which is definitely better than hubcaps. Even if it only offers hubs, use those as your winter tires, and get some nice aftermarket rims for your summers - that way you get the rims you want and don't damage them in the winter months.
Blizzaks are AMAZING in the winter! Can't drive without them.

I want factory rims though so I don't have to spend more money on new rims that should come with the car.
Scion is smart, they know what the market wants. Expect rims on the car, not hub caps.

Lets hope you are right.
Hub caps should be banned from any car in this day and age.

Agreed!!! :p
14" tires with black steel wheels and a nice cheap hub cap over top.........can't wait! /sarcasm
No no no no no no, NO! Get the word hubcaps off this site...don't get Scion ideas to lower the pricetag! :)
Not to be rude but would anyone seriously say they want hubcaps?

If you were really budget conscious and having hubcaps saved you a couple grand, I'm sure there would be someone who would do it - anything is possible.

Definitely not me... I think steelies are so hideous that I have a set of rims for my snow tires :p

I never thought of things that way - definitely a good thought. If you wanted to save money, hubcaps would be the way, since rims can cost you a pretty penny these days. Also, you could always upgrade to a set of used aftermarket rims which would cost less than factory, plus personalize your IQ at the same time :)
Yeah, used or new aftermarket rims (depending on the size) would be an option - aftermarket is almost always cheaper than getting it from the dealer...
I hate to say it but if the hubcaps are decent looking and the tires are not tiny little 14" wheels it may be a good alternative for my wife and save some cash like Driven mentioned above. Maybe for HIDs!
I think it would make some sense for the iQ to have hubcaps. Scion, after all, is about customization, and most people ditch the stock rubber in favor of some aftermarket wheels. Every Scion except for the tC has come from the factory with hubcaps.

Personally, I hope it comes with regular steel wheels and hubcaps. That way, I will be forced to buy some nice new rims and slap some snow tires on the steelies. :-D
It is a good way to force people to upgrade for customization, good point jim. Never knew that lots of Scions came with hubcaps already, good to know.
Hubcaps for sure if Scion likes to go that route.

I hope my dealer offers their own custom iQ's with aftermarket wheels already added on and maybe some other nice add ons like tint.
Hubcaps are old news. I am surprised all manufacturers don't offer some kind of alloy wheels on every car.
