DIY Cup holder...

Due to the lack of places to put cups in the iQ, I built and installed my own. I built if from a plumbing strap bent to a 90° angle and a corn starch container. I guess one could easily use a metal angle bracket just as easily. Any spills should be contained within the container. I added some padded foam on the bottom to keep the bottom fastener from wearing into any cups. The previous owner had screwed a bolt into the environmental panel so I just used that hole to hang my cup holder off of. The passenger side can be installed on the opposite side on the panel as well. Enough clearance for knees and legs. ;)

Some improvements to the DIY cup holder. It was flexing too much under load and the top of the cup was too close to the console so I had to add some spacers. The reinforcement is a 4" drain pipe that I split and wrapped around the initial container. Ziptied to the bracket to add extra support and to keep the cup from flexing the support when travelling down the road. I'm not going to worry about a coffee cup fitting into the holder as I don't drink coffee or use a mug in the vehicle. ;)

Major upgrade to my DIY cup holder mount. This allows me to adjust the cup holder more towards the shifter and give my right knee a little bit more room. ;)
