CVT whine

Most days when traveling the 38 miles it takes to get home, if I drive more than 65mph on the interstate, the CVT gets really whiny by the time I'm in the last mile or two. Does anyone think a larger transmission cooler or adding a transmission cooler might be a good idea? I'm just thinking that if it is struggling that much to make the car go...even under normal highway speeds...that cooling things down might help out? I'm not getting any ecm/transmission codes, so I know its not overheating. Perhaps the "gear" whine is normal. Thoughts?

Wow. At how many miles does this start to become a concern?
Toyota I guess is trying to improve sales, by making calculated vehicle life shorter and shorter. I'd probably have a dealer do mine as well, since I don't have a level driveway, (when the time comes)...
I usually see noise complaints on higher mi/km vehicles. I am also on a Prius forum and recommendation to change the fluid is quite early due to contamination/wear/fluid breakdown, even with no noise, no vehicle breakdown.

I guess a similar concern has arose regarding the iQ, and similarly here I am interested in looking at alternative CVT fluids, like Redline Non-Slip CVT fluid for example. (I just looked up Amsoil and they also have a CVT fluid). (Looks like Redline is a “better” formulation with a lower pour point temperature)?

Anyone consider trying/try something else than Toyota brand? I would definitely when the time comes for mine.

Just ordered 2 filters and it should arrive in about 21 days. ;)
Did you get these in yet? (Hopefully)…
