Fun fact: the rover that just landed on Mars (go NASA/JPL!), the Mars Science Laboratory/Curiosity (2.9m x 2.7m x 2.2m) is technically larger than the iQ (3.1m x 1.7m x 1.5m). The rover's not really that tall - it's the mast (that supports the cameras in the "head") that brings it up that high. Curiosity's much lighter though (174kg) vs the iQ (965kg).

For some reason the press here keeps referring to Curiosity as being the size of a MINI Cooper. In some ways that makes sense because people seem to be somewhat familar with the size of a MINI Cooper as a point of reference, but few around here know much about an iQ.

Take that as you will.:)

Either way it's so cool that the large rover is on Mars. I'm looking forward to the data it will send back.

Space the final frontier!

I was so excited to see one of the fist images sent back this morning...
