Curious to survey forum...
Please feed back as to how many wish availability of an 1 1/4" IQ receiver tube

Realize towing possibilities are rather limited but was wondering if there are enough of us into biking and skiing ?!?
I've had myself 1 1/4" hitches on all of my cars for as long as I can remember...
(can't picture what summer will be like without one)

PS: suggest forum members also voice their wish with companies such as:

In the EU the iQ has
ZERO roofload and
ZERO towing possibility in the papers!:(
So no chance for box on top / a hitch for trailer or bikes...
I know only one iQ from the Netherlands with an inofficial hook.

Is the Scion iQ "improoved"?
TKX for the warning master-yoda
I agree this is a SMALL car - not suited to tow... (in particular CVT-equipped where you have no feel of slippage or lugging)

I will only use attachment to carry around skis & bikes
20-some LBS aluminum & carbon-fiber cross-country race bikes... not the gravity style
I'm not sure how this is going to work out for you, but I don't think I would consider it. It goes against what this car was build for, but I guess if you have really light bikes it might be ok.

For carrying bikes or occasional coolers I think it would be fine.
I do always have concerns for bikes blocking lights and license plates though.
Hey master-yoda
d'you see these out there
they're right from the catalog...

iQ514,
Thanks for finding the hitch for the iQ. Lack of a hitch was holding me back from buying the iQ.

Carrying a load to the dump with my Kawasaki W650. Gotta be able to pull a small trailer with an iQ.

Don't be surprised if you have any engine or transmission problems if the dealership won't cover it. As soon as they see this on the car. As in the owners manual it says NO TOWING !

Who said I was towing?
Gotta be able to pull a small trailer with an iQ.......isnt this what you said:confused:
I simply bought a folding bike...put the seats down, put it inside and you're good to go!
I installed a Curt Trailer Hitch for the 2012 iQ by Scion

Seems to pull it just fine. Light duty use only, I have a F350 for serious hauling.
I like it. Still a maybe for me, but happy to see in in real life operation.
very cool,at first i thought whoa, thats a pretty big trailer for that car, then i thought,oh ya,the cars the size of a commercial washing machine so that is actually a tiny trailer:rolleyes:.i look forward to an update once you have put it to use, have a great weekend.
Out of warranty ... this car is not made for this (specified by Toyota)
