    Fog Light Modifications

I keep looking at front end pictures of the IQ and think, wouldn't it be great if there was some fog lights in the front lower grill. What do you guys think? Would this be a tough mod to pull off?

If you are comfortable with wiring it should be ok. Would need to drill a few holes for the mounts and put the fogs on. Just please don't throw massive dumb looking fog lights on.

No I was just thinking smaller round or maybe oval fog lights. I really like the IS300 look with the yellow fog lights so I was thinking something like that.

I like the style of the IS300, that would look really good Overhaul.

Its actually very easy, just give yourself about 3 hours one afternoon to install them and you should be ok. It will probably only take an hour but its good to give yourself extra time just in case

Just make sure you have all the necessary tools - nothing sucks more than being in a middle of a project and not having the right tool and having to stop and go get it.

fog lights are one of the easiest mods to do to a car as long as you're ok with wiring. only things you need wire, drill, screws, and a relay. you can even do without the relay if you want to wire a separate switch to it. its a lot easier to just tap into your headlights wire though.

Bad idea to tap into the headlight wire. Run separate wires for sure and a switch. Wouldn't want to overload the circuit. When doing electrical work I run new circuits whenever possible. Especially for cosmetic type accessories.

running a relay allows you to do it safely plus if they're not good at running wires through the firewall this way allows you to do away with a switch. optimally though you want to run a seperate fused wire with a switch inside the cabin.

I shopped around and found the original Scion Factory Fog Light kit for $220.00.

There are Scion dealers that discount their Accessories, you just need to find them, don't go to you local dealer/stealer if they don't discount.

The cool thing about installing the Scion factory fog light kit is that the switch mounts in the center shifter console and there is a small illuminated icon on the dash display that lights up to let you know they are on.

What size bulb comes in the factory fogs? The dealer had to order mine and when they install them, I want to give them different bulbs to put in.
