Scion iQ On Sale This September?

I found an article that says that the IQ will be available in September 2010. That is only a month away! I am interested to see whether this date holds true.

...my sources are close to the action and they are telling me that the Scion iQ will be on sale in the US this September 2010 as a 2011 model. I have also been told that it will come with 10 air bags standard and will be a blend of the SEMA car and concept car visually. The starting price will be $14,900 and make it the most affordable of the Scion line up just behind the xD. Scion is banking on this little wonder to reignite its flickering brand....

From what most sources are reporting it is going on sale in March 2011. I hope its true though. But I'm still doubtful about his sources.

That article was written in January. Generally, auto manufacturers like to crank up the hype machine several months before release. The final stages of hype are when the automotive press test drives the US version. I don't think we'll see the car for sale until the major automotive magazines and newspapers start testing and writing about the US version.

That sucks. So far there's still no scheduled media events/test drives for the iQ. At least as far as I know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see when they actually release it.
