Foreign Accessories

I'm going to London in two weeks and thought I might see what accessories I could pick up. Just looking at the UK page was frustrating. Scion gets springs and lit-up skid plates and the Toyota had 8 *pages* of baby seats, home link integration and seats (to name a few).

Why, oh why, do Americans not get these options? Yes, I am going to play the materialism card. Of all the countries to limit, they chose to limit the one with the most disposable credit/debt?

I didn't look at Japan's accessories but I'm guessing I wouldn't want to put Hello Kitty (or whatever ubiquitous cartoon stupidity they have) on my car anyways.

I read people saying other markets had different options. I just didn't realize they amount of options they had. That's irritating.

I really want the matching interior panels but I can't find them on any site. Just the red ones on eBay. Is that the only color option?

I don't understand? if you see something you want in other country.. buy it, with your credit card/with the most disposable credit/debt... I buy my parts all over the world and it's not a problem, sometime I must wait for delivery ;-) PS, Japan had best parts for our IQ (except airrunner)

My main point was I shouldn't have to go to those lengths. A few varying options per market is understandable. An entire catalogue is not.

I've ordered a fit like OEM center armrest/console/additional cup holder from a Japanese based marketing company. While the price is reasonable enough, the shipping is horrendous. Having these items available here would cut down on that portion of the total purchase price.

The fabric torneau cover for the rear area behind the front seats is a ready to install item (the snaps are already there, covered by plastic caps). However, Toyota did not see fit to deign to import this item. It's not available as a part in the US system (at least as of yesterday afternoon - I spent time with the local dealer parts department running through the parts listings), and is only available on the secondary overseas market - again with substantial shipping expense.

I should have added that, on that listing, you need to look at entries for "Toyota iQ. I tend to forget that the car is sold under the Toyota name in the "rest of the world".

In browsing that eBay store just now, I also picked up the overhead console (glasses bin) offered by the same firm. I passed on the in car trash bin (which mounts in the passenger's foot well).

As the line goes in the B52's hit "Love Shack", "...and bring your juke box money!"...
